On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 13^th Vacuum and Surface Sciences Conference of Asia and Australia (VASSCAA-13), which will be held from August 23 to 27, 2026, at the Sheraton Hotel in Jeju, Korea.

The VASSCAA series was established to provide a new forum in Asia and Australia for discussing vacuum, surface, and related sciences, techniques, and applications. Officially endorsed by the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA), the conference has grown in scope and impact since its first meeting in 1999, fostering collaboration among scientists, engineers, and researchers worldwide.

VASSCAA-13 will be held in conjunction with The 71^st Korean Vacuum Society (KVS) Summer Annual Conference, jointly organized by The Korean Vacuum Society (KVS). This co-located event will bring together experts and researchers from both international and domestic communities, offering a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, share research achievements, and explore future directions in vacuum and surface sciences.

A wide range of high-quality research contributions will be presented through oral and poster sessions, highlighting cutting-edge advances in the fields of Vacuum and Applied Surface Sciences. The conference will also feature plenary and invited talks by distinguished experts, providing valuable insights into emerging trends and future directions.

Jeju, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site and one of Asia’s most beloved travel destinations, offers a perfect backdrop for our symposium.
